Demo project
Landing page for a legal services firm
A qualification quiz with an honest rejection branch and a debt calculator.
design and build · HTML · CSS · JS

The task
Finstart is a law firm handling personal bankruptcy, a court-supervised debt relief procedure. The niche is saturated with “we will write off everything” advertising, so trust is the scarce resource. The landing page has to filter out unqualified leads before they reach a lawyer and walk qualified ones to the form, without promising an outcome that a court decides, not the firm. A demo project: the company is fictional, the brief is real.
The solution
- The visual language of a private bank: deep blue and ivory alternate by section, serif headlines, restrained gold only in lines and step numbers. No red buttons, no countdown timers.
- A five-question qualification quiz is the main filter. The verdict is computed from the answers and has four branches, from “your case likely qualifies” to an honest “with a debt this small, bankruptcy is usually not worth it” that points to the free out-of-court procedure instead.
- The calculator computes only what can honestly be computed: debt load as a share of income. It does not promise a “write-off amount” - a court decides that.
- The pricing section computes the fee on screen: a 118,800 rouble base plus a surcharge for the number of creditors, with the instalment and the timeline next to it. The price is not hidden behind a phone call, and the visitor sees what makes it up in their own case.
- Two conversion points: a form on the quiz result screen and a final block with a preferred call time.
Details that are easy to miss
- Quiz answers are scored in the browser and are never sent with the request - the form says so in plain text. Only a name and a phone number leave the page.
- Consent to personal data processing is a required checkbox with its own error message and a separate policy page, not a token footer link.
- The legal content is checked against the actual statutes: consequence timelines, protection of the debtor’s only home, an FAQ about the free out-of-court route. The “average write-off” figure in the legend is the stated total divided by the stated number of cases: the numbers agree with each other.
- No build step: the page opens from disk, paths are relative, dependencies are zero.
- Counter animations and quiz transitions respect prefers-reduced-motion; images ship as WebP with a JPG fallback and lazy loading.
What the page includes
Every figure is verifiable from the demo files: the 5-step quiz with 4 verdict branches from the script code, the calculator and the two lead forms from the markup, the 4 pages from the file list.
